18-year-old's sudden death 'was from natural causes'

The Bolton News: Stephen Addison Stephen Addison

THE inquest of an 18-year-old diabetes sufferer who died suddenly in December was cancelled after the coroner judged him to have died of “natural causes”.

Bolton Wanderers fan Stephen Addison, of Seddon Street, Little Lever, had type 1 diabetes and died at his home on December 6.

Initially an inquest was opened into his death as the cause was unknown.

The scheduled hearing at Bolton Coroner’s Court yesterday did not go ahead as the coroner was satisfied that an inquest was not required.

Paying tribute after Mr Addison’s death, his father Steve, aged 57, said: “Stephen was my son but he was also my best mate. We did everything together and went everywhere together.”
