GREASE was definitely the word at Bolton Sixth Form College when students took to the stage to perform their version of the hit musical.
For two nights, members of the college’s performing arts enrichment club had audiences dancing in their seats as they belted out Summer Nights, Look at me I’m Sandra Dee and Grease Lightning — with two months of rehearsals perfecting their hand jive and electric dance moves. The cast and college band received a standing ovation on the last night.
Samantha Worrall, head of performing arts, said: “The performing art enrichment students have worked incredibly hard rehearsing Grease, which has paid off.
“Both performances were fantastic and we have had lots of great feedback from the audiences. Students in this enrichment club are studying a wide range of subjects, not just performing arts. They develop confidence, learn new skills, make friends and mix with a diverse range of students, but most of all they have fun.”
