BOLTON has two new MPs, who were appointed in a town-hall ceremony this evening.

Tresor Mbuyi aged 16, from Thornleigh Salesian College and, Ebony Cropper, aged 15, from Bolton St Catherine’s Academy, topped the poll and beat six other candidates to the title.

The other six will become part of Bolton’s youth council.

Tresor and Ebony will replace Lydia Wolstenholme, aged 13, of Astley Bridge, and Fahad Ali, aged 16, of Ladybridge, who served for two years.

The full results were:

  • Aaliyah Iqbal, aged 13, from Ladybridge School – 1,309 votes.
  • James Casterton, aged 15, from Turton School – 2,092 votes.
  • Haval Kareem, aged 15, from Essa Academy – 2,079 votes.
  • Tresor Mbuyi, aged 16, from Thornleigh Salesian College – 3,468 votes.
  • Joshua Crossley, aged 18, from Rumworth School – 764 votes.
  • Ebony Cropper, aged 15, from Bolton St Catherine’s Academy – 4,174 votes.
  • Ryan Wallwork, aged 16, from Bolton Sixth Form – 2,107 votes.
  • Emily Raby, aged 15, from Mount St Joseph School – 1,950 votes.
