THE funeral of Bolton-born illusionist Richard De Vere will take place in Thailand on Monday.

Mr De Vere will be cremated at the Wat Tai in the Thai town of Pattaya on March 17.

It is thought his ashes will eventually be returned to the UK for a family service.

The 46-year-old entertainer, whose Mystique show ran for many years at the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool, died on Monday while on an annual holiday with partner Marc Lawlor.

Mr De Vere suffered a massive heart attack in hospital having been admitted several days before suffering from pneumonia.

His father Chris, aged 73, mother Christine, aged 72, and sister Philippa all live in Harwood.
