A MAN told his partner he wished he had killed her after kicking her and punching her, a court heard.

Lee Munroe, 29, of Kenyon Way, Little Hulton, had dragged Chantelle White off the bed and left her cowering on the bedroom floor.

The previous night they had argued in the J2 nightclub in Bolton.

Two weeks earlier he slapped her twice across her face, causing a cut lip.

Munroe, who has previous convictions for violence, was sentenced to nine months supervision for assault.

He was ordered to pay £200 compensation to Miss White along with £300 costs and a £60 surcharge.

Magistrates also handed him a two year restraining order, banning him from contacting Miss White.
