FAMILIES were encouraged to “spring forward” at a fun day in Moss Bank Park.

The Hive Centre, which is based in the park and run by Lancashire Wildlife Trust, hosted the Spring Forward event to welcome in the new season.

Activities included an African drumming and dancing workshop, a children’s dinosaur hunt and the chance for families to learn how to grow their own vegetables and herbs.

There was also a visit from interactive storytelling group Stone Soup, who inspired youngsters with magical tales.

Charlie Barlow, senior project officer, said: “It was really nice to see lots of people out enjoying the sunshine.

“We like to do an event to bring in every season and we are hoping to see more and more people coming to visit the Hive centre in the coming months, particularly as the weather continues to improve.”

The Hive is open every day, from 10am to 3pm, except for Tuesdays and Sundays.
