A BREIGHTMET man who sent more than 100 text messages over three days to a woman has been given a suspended sentence.
Paul Duffy, aged 41, of Kentmere Road, pleaded guilty to causing the woman to believe violence would be used against her, contrary to the Harassment Act 1997.
Duffy will be under a supervision order for the duration of his 12-week prison sentence, which was suspended for 18 months.
A restraining order was also imposed by magistrates on March 17 barring Duffy from contacting the woman he sent the messages between February 25 and 28, as well as visiting an address in Halliwell.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £165.
