A BRAVE schoolboy is taking part in a firewalk challenge tonight (FRI) in memory of his mum.
The 14-year-old and his dad, Chris, have always been appreciative of the tremendous support the hospice gave to them at the time and the amazing support that staff give to all cancer victims and their families.
Zoe Greenhalgh’s dying wish was to donate her body tissue to help research into illnesses like hers and she was featured in a national advertising campaign, which used her winning smile and inspirational messages to encourage others to be organ donors.
Sadly, she never got to see the campaign, but said: “I feel so proud that I can help others once I’m gone. It’s not about me, it’s about you. Get thinking, get talking and get involved.”
Alex was recently best man when his dad remarried.
Nikki, his new step mum said: “He did an amazing speech — he is turning into a wonderful young man who would have made his mum proud.”
The firewalk takes place at Bolton Golf Club tonight (FRI).
