A BOLTON theatre is bringing the language of Shakespeare to life for budding young actors.

The Octagon’s Youth Theatre is staging Twelfth Night from tonight until Thursday.

Holy Cross College student Becky Bolton, aged 17, from Bury, who will play Olivia, has appeared in previous productions of Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth.

She said: “It is like speaking a whole different language but, once you get your head round it, it’s great.”

Turton High School pupil Emma Smith, aged 13, from Bromley Cross, said: “It’s really good. It was a bit of a struggle at the start to get the language, but you soon pick it up.”

Harper Green School pupil Callum Goulding, aged 15, from Great Lever, said he has appeared in two shows with the youth theatre and will play Malvolio.

Turton High School pupil Abigail Westhead, aged 12, from Harwood, will play Maria and St James’ School pupil Joe Duker, aged 14, from Morris Green, will play Duke Orsino.

Twelfth Night is on from tonight until Thursday, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £6, or £3 concessions, are available by calling 01204-520661.
