SPECIAL guests joined talented young musicians on stage during a five-night series of concerts.

Music Centre Presents concerts were held each evening, from Monday, at the Albert Halls, Bolton.

This year, a new feature was introduced that saw audience members who found one of 12 ‘golden tickets’ in their programme take to the stage for one night only.

And on Thursday, the Mayor of Blackrod, Cllr Stephen Laycock, found himself performing on an African djembe drum as part of Bolton Radicals.

The ensembles who entertained the audience that evening included Bolton Beginner Concert Band, Lads A Cappella, Bolton Intermediate Brass Band, Bolton Junior Guitar Ensemble, Bolton Youth Choir, Bolton Youth Harmonies and New Century Strings.

Last night, the series was brought to a close with performances by Bolton Junior Concert Band, Bolton Junior Youth Choir, Kearsley Junior Brass Band, Bolton Youth Chamber Strings, Soul Patrol, Bolton Intermediate Percussion Ensemble, Bolton Youth Symphonic Brass Ensemble and Bolton Youth Orchestra.
