TWO sisters are celebrating after topping the league tables in a reading scheme.
Atherton St George’s Primary School is taking part in the Get Snapped Reading competition, with pupils given a card that gets signed every time they go to the library to read.
Morgan Green, aged 10, and eight-year-old Charlie were first to fill up their cards and even younger sister, four-year-old Abbie who attends Little Dragons Pre School, completed hers soon after.
Amy Lavelle, a teacher from the school, said: “They are lovely pupils and a credit to have in our school.”
The scheme aims to encourage schoolchildren to read for pleasure after a study revealed those who do tend to perform better than their peers.
