A LORRY driver arrested after a crash on the M61 has been released on bail.
The northbound carriageway was shut for more than nine hours on Monday after the Scania lorry crashed and burst into flames between junctions five and six.
A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing a roadside breath test.
He was released on bail without charge, police said yesterday.
