AN actor and singer from Harwood who appeared on Peaches Geldof’s television show paid tribute to a “sharp and clever young woman”.

James Edgington was just 16-months-old when his mother Jennifer died in a car crash in Bolton in 1985 and he appeared on OMG! with Peaches Geldof in 2011, to talk about the death of family members.

On Monday, the mother-of-two was found dead at her home in Kent, at the age of 25.

Her own mother, Paula Yates, died in 2000, at the age of 41, from an accidental heroin overdose.

Mr Edgington said: “It is really sad and it just hits home the family she has left behind.

“We worked with Peaches on her ITV2 programme. We went on and it was quite touching to hear Peaches talk about her mum.”

Along with his father Graham, the pair set up The Jennifer Charity to support widowed fathers and their children.

He said: “We are going to try to reach out to her husband and children with the support that our charity provides for widowed fathers.

“Peaches was a sharp and clever young woman who leaves behind a devastated family that can only stay strong together in this situation.”

Peaches visited Bolton to film a documentary in 2005.

A post-mortem examination into the death of the presenter and model has proved inconclusive pending the results of toxicology tests.

Kent Police said officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances around her death and a toxicology report could take several weeks.
