A SUSPECTED burglar has been charged with stealing firearms and cash worth £14,000 in a break-in at a home in Westhoughton.

Craig Lister, aged 33, is alleged to have burgled a home in Dicconson Lane, stealing firearms, ammunition, cash and valuables while armed with a knife and an axe.

Lister, of Hale Road, Liverpool, is also accused of having a Ruger rifle, a Bore Tika Gun and other items, including hundreds of bullets, without a firearms certificate.

He is also charged with having shotguns without a firearms certificate.

The crimes are alleged to have taken place on March 28.

He will appear at Bolton Crown Court on April 25.
