GOVERNORS of a Bromley Cross school have urged pupils’ parents to think carefully before parking.
In a letter to parents, governors at Turton High School say residents of Birtenshaw Crescent and Montrose Drive “have been upset by vehicles parked in front of their houses, sometimes blocking their drives and sometimes preventing emergency service vehicles and refuse collections from getting down their street.”
The letter adds: “Your consideration here will be very much appreciated.
“Encourage your children to walk to school.
“Use the Chapeltown Road car park. Don’t use the Bromley Cross Road car park or park on double-yellow lines.”
The letter ends “We appreciate how congested the local roads are and everyone’s desire to keep children safe and we are sympathetic.
“However, we also represent the local community and would really appreciate your consideration for their needs to.”
