FLOWER power was being spread by an Over Hulton shop owner as the second annual National Flower Arranging Day blossomed this week.

The event saw an estimated 60,000 ‘lonely bouquets’ donated around the UK by anonymous floral heroes for people to find and take home.

Inspired by last year’s inaugural celebration, organised by The National Association of Flower Arrangement, Beci Rice has continued the gesture on the last Sunday of every month.

Flower-enthusiast Beci runs Rose Hip Flowers, in Newbrook Road, and a Ramsbottom market stall but still finds time to bring joy to others outside her working hours.

She said: “It’s so easy to give something back, it’s a small gesture that brings people happiness.

“For example, we have had people that have taken them to elderly relatives who have had a fall.

“It’s so simple for us to just be able to give something back to the community. It creates such nice situations for people.”
