POPSTAR Antony Costa paid a flying visit to Bolton to aid the search for the town’s next big star.

The celebrity and member of Blue, joined Britain’s Got Talent finalist James Edgington and ‘Lady Showbiz’ Karen Walters, chief executive of Tiger Entertainment as they held auditions for aspiring singers at the Holiday Inn.

Ms Walters said she was disappointed just over a handful of wannabes came along to perform, but added they would be bringing the search to schools in the near future.

She said: “I’m looking to find the next big star in the north west.

“It was lovely to have Antony down to judge the acts – he was very nice and brought a wide background of experience to his judging.”

The winner will be offered a recording contract and representation.

I think they timed it badly. The vast majority that would have turned up to this, went to the X factor auditions last week.
