A THREE day music festival will kick off at a Northwich football ground this summer.

The OMG Festival takes place at Witton Albion Football Club, in Wincham, on July 11, 12 and 13.

With a selection of acts lined up to perform on two stages during the weekend and space for up to 200 campers, organisers are excited about its potential.

Iain Stead, event organiser, said: “There’s an awful lot music going on in Northwich but it’s not tied together, so we’ve decided to try to pull it all together.

“This is involving musicians from all over Cheshire and a lot from Northwich, we’ve also got one or two signed acts coming.

“it’s very much a fledgling idea but we’re hoping it will grow annually and become a main feature.”

Acts that have already agreed to perform include The Luka State, Milly Pye, Headsticks, Hex, Pacific, The Eyres, The Assets, All About Time, Washington Reed, Dirty Vertebrae, The Purpletones, Will Garner, Pastry Shoes, Complicated Duo, Ste Sheridan and The Beautiful Incidents.

More are yet to be announced.

The main stage for the event will be built into one of the stands, with the audience on the pitch and a selection of stalls around the outside.

A second stage will be inside the club.

Camping will be on the training ground.

There will also be an open mic competition with the winner performing on the main stage on the Sunday of the event.

Iain, who runs Mack’s Music at Northwich Indoor Market, said: “It’s all about promoting local talent.”

He added: “The music community at the moment is so vibrant.

“It’s quite a force and that’s something I want to tap into for the benefit of the community.”

Weekend passes are £20 for adults and £5 for children.

Day passes are £10 for adults and £3 for children.
