A TEACHER will tick off a life ambition when she throws herself out of a plane at 15,000 feet for two sporting causes.

Daredevil Lucy Golding, a maths teacher at Prestwich Arts College, is taking on an adrenaline-fuelled skydive in Lancaster on May 26.

The 22-year-old’s brave stunt is in aid of Bury Girls and Ladies FC, where she plays and coaches, and Jigsaw, a sports and social group for young disabled people in Bury.

Lucy, of Turks Road, Radcliffe, said: “I have always wanted to do a skydive, and I was planning to do one for my 21st birthday nearly two years ago. Because I kept putting it off, I knew I needed a reason to actually do it, so choosing some charities to benefit was perfect.

“Both the football club and Jigsaw do a great job offering sports and social activities for specific groups in our area.”

Lucy began playing football at the age of eight, started refereeing at 14, and has coached since she was 16. She coaches the under-11s at Bury Girls and Ladies FC, as well as playing for the women’s team.

Lucy added: “I would like to raise £1,000 which will be split evenly between the two causes.”
