Bin full of dog poo left outside Daubhill woman's house

The Bolton News: Gail Friars outside her back yard in Daubhill and the bin of dog dirt which the council has not moved Gail Friars outside her back yard in Daubhill and the bin of dog dirt which the council has not moved

A FURIOUS neighbour has called for urgent action after a bin of dog waste has been left unemptied outside her home for more than a week.

Gail Friars says she reported the problem bin in Brandwood Street, Daubhill, as soon as she discovered it on May 12.

Bolton Council claims there is no record of the issue being reported.

The 58-year-old said: “Obviously it was horrible to see the small bin full to the top with dog waste so I told the council about it straight away and I was told it would be marked up as an urgent job.”

But she said no one from the council came to clear it up so she reported it again on both the following Wednesday and Friday.

Mrs Friars added: “The weather is very warm and that hasn’t helped, flies are constantly around it and now unfortunately someone has knocked the bin over so it has spilled out.

“I don’t expect the normal bin men to come and pick it up but I would have thought something like dog waste would be a priority for the council.”

The Bolton News contacted Bolton Council, who said there was no record of Mrs Friars’ complaint.

But a spokesman said the matter would be dealt with.

He added: “I’m afraid we do not seem to have a record of this complaint. However, we have arranged for staff to remove the waste as soon as possible.”

Well said Marco. When I read the headline on my Facebook page, I thought of one of those fixed bins situated in a park. I'll agree it's disgusting to see that kind of mess on our streets, but I'm not surprised that cleaning it up isn't at the top of the council's list of priorities. I'd suggest that Mrs Friars get some rubber gloves, several bin liners and a sweeping brush and clean the mess up herself. She could have had it all sorted in the time it took her to ring the Bolton News.

What an absolute nonsense of a story.
When I saw the headline, I thought that's really bad as my first impression was a small wheelie bin full of poo had been 'dumped'. The photo says it all in that it's a little black food recycling bin!!!!!
My advice to you Gail is to do as others on this post have suggested and put your marigolds on - it's not that big a job, hold your breath (it will be over in seconds and think of England in the meantime), bag the muck up and whizz it in your wheelie bin. You would be doing the Council and neighbours a favour by taking personal action to address a petty pollution situation, and maybe do your local community a favour by stopping kids getting dog $hit on their shoes - every parents nightmare!
Perhaps even sprinkle a little disinfectant over the area and pour a kettle of boiling water over the weeds, It works as I know from personal experience... Will help to satisfactorily address the situation you currently have with flies in your kitchen.
If you are as disgruntled with the Council as you say you are, maybe you should give the BBC or ITV local news teams a call to see if they would be interested in interviewing you and your little black box of spilt poo?
No wonder Council Tax goes up year on year with lazy attitudes like this.

Also this is not the only problem round there, furniture, beds, cookers, etc,etc are regularly dumped in these back streets... what should gail do drag and carry stuff like that away, it's not a matter of the s h i t being easy to clean up... it's lazy bone idle dog owners, and foreigners dumping their rubbish in these back streets that go unpunished.

I'm sure the lady has a lot of pride but why should some of us try and keep areas around our houses clean and tidy over and over again if it's a regular thing we have to do because lazy c u n t s can't be bothered to take their rubbish home or to the tip.
I presume you do not live near this street and might be privileged or lucky enough to live in a nice area, so let me just say many people around areas like this have no morals or respect for much anymore, so the lady in the article is somewhat of a one off as she tried to get the council to take it away, if it was a settee that needed moving by some refugee or asylum seeker they would have been round quicker than s h i t off a shovel.
