BATON-TWIRLERS from Bolton Red Rose Majorettes danced their way to success.

Members aged three to 30 competed at the Universal Spring Open Competition at the Tayton Bay Holiday Park in Yorkshire.

The troupe has been involved in the competition for more than 10 years.

The 34 majorettes who made the trip were rewarded with a clutch of honours to take home.

Bolton Red Rose Majorettes won first place in the Dinky, Tiny, Junior and Senior Dance sections, as well as coming out on top in Diamond Production.

Twelve other regional clubs were also competing, with dancers performing gymnastics and twirling batons in time to music.

Troupe leader Rachael Bailey said: “They all did brilliantly.”
