ENVIRONMENTALLY conscious youngsters were taught a lesson in keeping their neighbourhood clean and tidy during their school’s eco-week.
Turton and Edgworth Primary School marked the week with a range of fun activities, including year six pupils using a special stencil to bring attention to the problem of dog fouling in the area — using a special marker which washes dirt away.
They also took part in a litter picking session, setting an example to the rest of the neighbourhood.
Other activities included finding out about clothes made out of recycled materials, measuring how much water is used in school and about energy consumption.
Cllr Jean Rigby, governor at the school, said: “The children were fabulous, it was a real team effort.
“They picked up bags of rubbish and used a stencil to raise awareness of dog dirt. The children were really enthusiastic about the week.”
