A LITTLE Lever woman was conditionally discharged for two years after admitting a charge of racial harassment against a pub doorman.

Julie Kay, aged 44, of Chadwick Street, pleaded guilty to the charge relating to an incident at the Balmoral Pub in Bradshawgate, on March 9, involving Mohammad Khan.

Bolton Magistrates Court heard that at 11.15pm, Mr Khan took a man out of the pub after he had been singing football chants relating to Manchester City FC.

As he was being removed, Kay intervened and launched into a string of racially abusive comments.

The court was told how the incident left Mr Khan feeling embarrassed, despite having experienced similar things since moving to the UK from Pakistan in 2004.

A court heard that in police interview, Kay said: “I can’t say he called me a white bitch because he didn’t but he assaulted me because of it. That’s why I was racist.”

She was given a two-year conditional discharge and told to pay £100 of compensation, a £15 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
