A FUN day will be held in memory of two horses killed in an arson attack in April.

The Mosley Arms pub in Breightmet will host activities and a car boot sale on Saturday.

It will aim to celebrate the lives of the horses, Penny and General, who died after their stables in Hathaway Drive, Sharples, were set on fire.

Family and friends of owner Sam Brierley got together in May to complete a fundraising walk to raise money for a headstone for the horses.

Her sister, Jenny Brierley, said: “This event is more about remembering the horses and what they meant to her, but if we raise any money it will go towards the headstone.

“Sam is still finding it really hard — she just misses them so much and we want to do everything we can to help.”

The fun day will run from noon until 4pm.
