BOLTON Hospice is inviting people across the borough to have a cup of tea to help it raise funds.

The hospice has launched its second Tea Party Appeal and the Wellbeing Farm, Egerton, has offered its support to this year’s appeal.

It will serve afternoon teas in its cafe and will donate £1 to the hospice from each cuppa sold.

Bolton Hospice first set up the Tea Party Appeal to find a fun way for people to generate the £2.5 million needed to continue to offer services to patients.

Last year’s appeal raised £2,000, with Bolton residents and businesses hosting “tea times” throughout the summer.

Stephanie Lacaille, community fundraiser for the hospice, said: “Hosting a tea party is a fantastic way to help raise funds for Bolton Hospice, which will enable us to provide care to local people.

“We provide all of our services free of charge and we rely almost entirely on the generosity of the Bolton people, which is why we’re encouraging people to sign up and hold a tea party.

“We’d also like to thank The Wellbeing Farm for their generosity and for getting into the spirit of things.”

Celia Gaze, managing director of The Wellbeing Farm, said: “I used to work in the NHS, so I understand how important the services provided by Bolton Hospice are.

“Bolton Hospice is fantastic, you can’t beat it.

“A lot of people have used Bolton Hospice at some point in their lives.

“If I was going to donate money to anything, it would be to Bolton Hospice.”
