A THEATRE company will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a show-stopping production featuring scenes from past shows.

Numbers from popular musicals, including Mary Poppins, Chicago and Wicked, will be staged by the New Garrett Theatre Company at the Formby Hall, Alder Street, Atherton, from Wednesday.

The company formed in 1994 and has welcomed back former members to appear in the show, which will also feature performances from Aida, Hairspray, Avenue Q, Spamalot and The Full Monty.

Member Debbie Smith said: “We’ve got old members coming back with it being our 20 year show.
“People who have left are coming back specifically for this.

“Everyone’s really got on board and everyone is really proud of it.

“We are proud of still being able to run it and do it 20 years on.”

All the shows featured in the company’s 20 year anniversary celebration have been performed by members over the past two decades.

The group performs at least two productions each year, including a pantomime in January, at the Formby Hall after moving from its original home at Garrett Hall School in Tyldesley.

The 20th anniversary show is on at the Formby Hall, Alder Street, Atherton, from Wednesday, June 11 to Saturday, June 14, at 7.15pm.

Tickets cost £7 for adults, £6 concessions, £5 children or £18 for a family ticket (two adults and two children), including a pasty.
