SCHOOLBOY Joe Wadsworth is heading to London in a bid to become Britain’s official Top Trumps champ.

The 10-year-old will take part in the Top Trumps Champion grand final at London toy store Hamleys tomorrow after beating more than 50,000 other schoolchildren aged between seven and 11 from across the UK.

Joe, a pupil at Eagley Junior School in Bromley Cross, and 11 other youngsters, will play on a Turbo version of Top Trumps.

For the first time the Top Trumps Schools Tournament — in its fifth year — will be a public event.

All 12 finalists will be given a goodie bag of prizes at the end including lots of Top Trumps goodies and memorabilia and a special prize from Hamleys.

The champion will get a trophy and a VIP ride on the London Eye.

Joe said: “I am really excited and looking forward to the competition. I feel very proud to have got so far and have been practising lots against my family.”
