A SUSPECTED fraudster accused of stealing nearly £50,000 from a woman over a five-year period has appeared in court.
Jaishri Patel, aged 46, of Lever Edge Lane, Bolton, is accused of thefts worth £48,759 between February 23, 2008 and March 7, 2013.
She is also charged with three counts of fraud by false representation and one count of possessing an article for use in connection with a fraud.
Patel is accused of using a debit card and credit card belonging to someone else, and paying cheques in someone else’s name into her own bank account. She entered not guilty pleas to all five charges.
Her case will next be heard at Bolton Crown Court on June 20 and until then she is remanded on bail.
