UPDATED: Police hunting three people after car crashes into garden wall in Little Lever

The Bolton News: The car and damage to the house in Mytham Road, Little Lever The car and damage to the house in Mytham Road, Little Lever

A CAR crashed into a garden wall in Little Lever before the driver and two passengers fled.

A Volkswagen Golf hit a property in Mytham Road at about 3.30am on June 21.

Nobody inside the building was hurt but police are now trying to trace the car’s owner in a bid to find three people believed to have run away from the car after the incident.

A police spokesman said the car had caused extensive damage to the garden wall and hit the porch of the house, as well as clipping two parked cars.

Residents Peter and Judith Twentyman were upstairs in bed at the time of the incident, but their daughter Katie, aged 31, was downstairs after just returning from a party.

The car smashed into Mr Twentyman's car, which was then shunted into the house.
Bricks and concrete were also thrown into the front room and into the porch, by the impact of the crash.

Mrs Twentyman, aged 66, said: "I'm an insomniac so at that time I'm often in the front room watching TV.

"Thankfully I wasn't last night or I could've been killed.

"Katie had just come in from a party and was in the back room. It was a terrible shock for her."

Miss Twentyman saw the three men run off and believes they were in their 20s.

Both Mr Twentyman's car and his daughter's car were written off.

What makes you think they are young thugs..obviously upto no good but not all young drivers behave like this. Alot of young drivers are responsible and neec their cars for work so they cant afford to behave like thugs.

My son is 23 and drives for a living, do you suggest he quits work and signs on the dole ?
PS. he passed at 17, then passed his PCV at 21, he also has no points or convictions.
I feel it is you that needs to grow up and throw the blinkers in the bin.

How do you know that? My two sons have passed the driving test at 17 and 18 and have never driven like that. Both now 29 and 24. The bad drivers are the men wearing hats and caps! Driving at 20 in a 40 speed limit areas. Bet you are of them!! Ha!!

Well I think they should bring in a law to stop uneducated, sexist people from posting in public places like this, but that's not going to happen is it?

Gender discrimination works both ways so I don't see why you think it's fair to introduce laws that only affect men, maybe we should bring back laws preventing women from voting too while we're at it! I'm sure you'd have something to say about that - but its not too dissimilar to your proposal now is it?

Try putting down your copy of the Daily Mail and going outside, you might even find that there's some nice, responsible young drivers out there!

Not fair to have a go at young male drivers - I see plenty females driving incredibly recklessly when they are texting /using the phone/ applying another coat of makeup whilst driving.
