VICTORIA Square was transformed into a mountain bike track to give youngsters an action-packed day of fun in the sun.
The cycling fanatics strapped on their helmets and got on their bikes as Victoria Square in Bolton town centre was transformed into a riproaring north shore-style pump track on Saturday.
Bolton Council staff laid down the track to celebrate National Bike Week - and children borrowed mountain bikes so they could experience the thrills and spills of the adventure course under the eye of instructors.
Other keen cyclists brought their bikes along for police officers to mark so they can be traced if stolen.
It was one of more than 500 National Bike Week events held across the UK and followed a council-organised bike ride from Bolton to Horwich along the Middlebrook Valley Trail last Wednesday.
The council organises Wheels For All sessions, where disabled people can cycle on adapted bicycles at Leverhulme Park Community Club, Bolton Arena and Castle Hill Centre. Find out more at tinyurl.com/boltoncycling
