BRONWYN Ellis may have failed to impress The X Factor judges - but that has not stopped the 16-year-old singer netting herself a record deal.

The Harwood youngster secured the recording contract after auditioning at a talent-spotting event at Bolton’s Holiday Inn.

The event was hosted by entertainment manager Lady Showbiz, aka Karen Walters, who runs Tiger Entertainment as well as other entertainment companies.

She invited pop star Antony Costa, from the boyband Blue, to the auditions in Bolton and they both decided that young Bronwyn had what it takes to make it in the music business.

Ms Walters said: “My first impression was that Bronwyn has a great voice with a great tone to it, and she is full of potential.

“Talking with Antony we both felt she has all the ingredients, a great voice, she looks beautiful and she is very grounded with a good family behind her — she blew me away.

“She is very young and we are mindful of that, but also of the talent she has.”

Bronwyn will now be given a recording contract with Ms Walter’s record label, Tiger Records, and will receive guidance and mentoring from the entertainment guru, who has worked in the industry for 10 years.

Bronwyn said she could not believe it when she got the call to tell her she had been awarded a record deal.

The Turton School pupil, who lives with her parents in Lea Gate Close, Harwood, added: “We were away in Wales when Karen called to tell me the good news.

"I was so excited and happy because I have always wanted to be a singer. “I thought the audition had gone really well. I was nervous but I just went for it.”

Bronwyn auditioned for The X Factor in Bolton, but was not selected to progress.

Her dad, John Ellis, said: “She was a bit disappointed not to get through The X Factor, but then she was reading the write-up in The Bolton News when she saw the advert, so it was quite lucky.

"It is unbelievable news and we are so pleased and proud of her.”
