THE Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre has received a boost after being awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award.
The accolade is given to tourist hot spots that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.
TripAdvisor is a site where people review holidays, restaurants and trips out.
The Heritage Centre in Radcliffe Road, Darcy Lever, is at the site of the steeplejack’s former home and is visited by thousands of people each year.
Leon Powsney, manager and owner of the centre, said: “Winning the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is a true source of pride for the entire team at The Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre and we’d like to thank all of our past guests who took the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor.
“There is no greater seal of approval than being recognised by one’s customers. With the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence based on customer reviews, the accolade is a remarkable vote of confidence to our business and our continued commitment to excellence.”
Tourists flock to the heritage centre to see the collection of Victorian machinery in action and in the garden there is a 50ft chimney build by Fred.
Marc Charron, president of TripAdvisor for business, said: “TripAdvisor is pleased to honour exceptional hospitality businesses for consistent excellence.
“The Certificate of Excellence award gives top performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most — their customers.”
Coach parties often visit the centre.
