CHILDREN and staff at St Thomas of Canterbury RC Primary School in Heaton are hoping to raise more than the roof with their singing.
They have recorded a CD to raise money to fund a water project through charity CAFOD — Connect2 Ethiopia, which will be released at their summer concert on July 14.
Songs include Sing, Power in Me, Beauty and the Beast.
Teacher Cecilia Tandy said: “The project is based in Sebeya, Ethiopia.
“Earlier this month visitors from Sebeya came to talk to the children and parish about the project and life back home.
“As part of this, the school has made a CD recording of eight songs.
“All children in the school are involved in the recording and they are joined on two songs by members of staff and the governing body.”
