BOLTON MP Yasmin Qureshi is used to climbing through the political ranks - but she enjoyed a mountaineering experience with a difference in a visit to Manchester.
The Bolton South East MP took part in a climbing taster session organised by the British Mountaineering Climbing Council, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.
After speaking with volunteers and instructors, she scaled the 21-metre climbing wall at the Manchester Climbing Centre with the help of a harness and ropes.
Ms Qureshi said: “I had the opportunity to speak to many of the volunteers and organisers from the British Mountaineering Council who were telling me about how climbing is a great form of exercise for all ages and that Bolton is a fantastic area for climbing."
