IT may not have been fun in the sun, but there was certainly fun — and dancing in the rain —at the Westhoughton Village Fair.

The event was held at Washacre School and families enjoyed entertainment including music and dance as well as food and games.

Carl Messenger, senior leader at the school, said: “We were really pleased that more than 350 people braved the rain to join us at Westhoughton Village Fair hosted by Washacre Primary School.

“Everyone who attended joined in with the fun and games including listening to Juba do Leao drumming band, the Bethel Drama groups Alice in Wonderland play as well as the usual summer fair games.

“It was good to see the community spirit as everyone pulled together to make fair such a huge success.”
