YOUNG entrepreneurs at Walmsley CE Primary School took part in a Dragons’ Den style business project.

Year six pupils at the school in Blackburn Road, Egerton, were tasked with creating their own businesses and generating a profit for their company.

To raise money for their business, participants had to produce products to sell and make a pitch in front of local businessmen and women.

The children had two hours to sell their products at the school’s summer fair.Enterprises on the day included a Curry Corner and a Crossbar Challenge.

This project raised a total of £667, of which £200 was donated to Diabetes UK.

The remaining money was spent on a bowling trip for Year Six and a trip to the cinema for The Piggy Bankers, the project’s winning team.

Pupil Tom Honeywell was selected as Entrepreneur of the Year for organising and managing his team and dealing well with customers.
