A CYCLIST is in a critical condition after a crash that left him with a broken neck and fractured skull.
Police have now issued an appeal for information about the accident, which happened when the 59-year-old man was hit by with a blue Peugeot 208 in De Havilland Way near Tesco in Horwich yesterday at 5.50am.
He was about to turn right into Lostock Lane when the accident happened.
The cyclist was taken to Salford Royal Hospital where he is still in a critical condition.
The driver of the car, a 22-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed until September 18 while police investigate.
