FOOTAGE of a pensioner being dragged to the ground during a robbery has been shown on BBC’s Crimewatch.

Jane Campbell, aged 79, was approached from behind by a man who put his hand on her shoulder before running off with her shopping bag in Back Anglia Grove, Deane.

Mrs Campbell lost her balance during the ordeal and fell to the ground, hitting her face, breaking a finger on her left hand and bruising a second finger.

A second man stayed a short distance away, appearing to stand guard.

Several appeals have proved to be fruitless in tracing the men and police have now appealed to TV viewers.

Speaking previously to The Bolton News, Mrs Campbell, a former employee of Rumbelows, said: “My sweater had a lot of blood on afterwards. I am a bit of a fighter and I can’t give in to this.

"It is one of those things that has happened and I want to get over it — you can’t keep a good girl down. It happened quickly. They didn’t say anything to me.”

The footage was shown last night's programme.

The first suspect, who took the bag, was about 17 years old, 5ft 3ins, slim to medium build, with black hair and was wearing a royal or sky blue top.

The second man is thought to be slightly taller, medium build and was wearing a grey hooded top.

Mrs Campbell heard the two men speaking in a foreign language.
