A CYCLIST is said to be in a stable condition at Salford Royal Hospital after he was hit by a car near the Macron Stadium.

The 59-year-old man suffered serious head injuries at about 5.50am on July 16 when he was involved in the accident with a Peugeot 208 in De Havilland Way, Horwich.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and bailed until September 18.
