IT WAS certainly a rescue with a difference when these sheep had to be saved after they got stuck in some mud.
Bolton Mountain Rescue was called out to the bizarre incident at just before 6pm on Saturday by the North West Ambulance service, who were concerned walkers had also got stuck.
Two walkers had reported the sheep trapped in the mud in the marshes between Rivington Pike and Winter Hill.
Firefighters had also been called to the incident and when crews arrived they discovered two stuck — and sinking — sheep.
Thankfully crews from both Bolton Mountain Rescue and firefighters managed to pull the sheep to safety by 7.40pm.
