IT seems the Monty Python men cannot get enough of Bolton.

The town has already received a high profile mention in the past, thanks to the famous dead parrot sketch, but in the special screening of Monty Python Live (Mostly) at Cineworld in Eagley Brook Way, it got another name check.

The show, filmed at the O2 Arena in London, showed John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle and Terry Jones, brush off their old sketches.

Cllr Christopher Peacock tweeted his delight as the Python comics acted out a sketch about a spoof gameshow called Blackmail where a woman from Preston was forced into giving money so her secret affair with a Bolton man was not revealed.

Cllr Peacock said: “The dead parrot sketch was the highlight, but we also got a mention in another sketch. The whole audience gave a cheer.”
