A WOMAN crashed her car into four parked vehicles after an internet date went wrong, a court heard.
Heidi Crompton had been drinking before the incident, which caused “considerable damage” to one of the cars.
She was arrested at the scene and police investigated allegations she made against the person she met on the date.
Crompton, aged 28, of Boston Street, Halliwell, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court.
She was fined £230 with £108 costs and banned from driving for 24 months.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said police were called to a road accident in Preston Old Road, Blackburn, where they found Crompton’s car in the middle of the road.
She told officers she had been the victim of a crime which was why she had driven.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Crompton had started an internet conversation and she had been invited to the other person’s home in Blackburn.
He added: “She went there but there were difficulties.
“She wasn’t allowed to leave when she wanted.
“She made a complaint to police and, while no further action has been taken, as far as she is concerned at the time she needed to get away from the address.”
