A CARNIVAL princess brought a touch of royalty to a summer holiday children’s club.

Eight-year-old Blythe Cordwell was back in the limelight weeks after she was crowned Adlington’s Carnival Princess.

Blythe, a pupil at Adlington St Paul’s Primary School, joined other young shoppers as a VIP guest at the first of a series of summer holiday children’s clubs which are being held at Crompton Place shopping centre in Bolton throughout the holiday.

Malcolm Angus, Crompton Place manager, said: “The first of our free Snapper Jaxx Kids Clubs has gone down a treat with our families out shopping.

“The Snapper Jaxx set is very eye-catching and we have some wonderful, colourful characters helping the children with the activities. We must say a special ‘thank you’ to Blythe for being our VIP guest and I know having her here has brought a special type of regal magic to the event.”

Mum-of-two Jennifer Holmes, from Farnworth, who was with her daughter Kelsey Masters, aged five, said: “The Snapper Jaxx captures the children’s imagination as soon as they see it.

"Kelsey loves princesses, so it was lovely for her to meet Blythe and she had her photo taken with her.

"She also spent time doing the craft activities too.”

It was on of Blythe’s first official duties since being crowned at Adlington Carnival.

Mum Janette said: “All the children have made her feel like royalty. She has been able to help some of the other children with the crafts.”

Two more Snapper Jaxx Kids Clubs with different themes are planned at Crompton Place with Super Heroes on August 13 and Robot Boppin’ on August 27 — both from 11am to 3pm.
