A CHARITY event based on the theme of friendship and fun raised more than £5,000 for Bolton Hospice.

The evening was organised by Lisa Forshaw and Claire Wilkins, from event planning and lifestyle management company DLC.

It was held at Mrs Forshaw’s Westhoughton home and was attended by guests and entertainers including band Our Fold, the Voice UK contestant Joe Keegan, Westhoughton North and Chew Moor Cllr Christopher Peacock and DJ Darren Proctor, from Key 103.

A total of £5,185 was raised, which was handed over to the hospice by boxer Haroon Khan, younger brother of Amir.

Mrs Forshaw said: “The hospice is a charity close to DLC Lifestyle’s heart and it was a lovely afternoon handing over our donation.

“The event we organised was a huge success, so watch this space as there will be lots more to come from DLC.”
