A CAR smashed into railings after hitting another car in Bolton town centre.

Police had to guide traffic around the crash, which happened just after 8pm on Friday at the junction of Black Horse Street and Great Moor Street.

A silver Kia crashed into the railings after hitting a black Volkswagen Golf, leaving both cars badly damaged.

A man who witnessed the crash, and asked not to be named, said: “The cars are really badly damaged.

“I’m surprised no one was seriously hurt. It was really bad.

“You can see on the road where they smashed into each other.”

Neither of the drivers are believed to be seriously injured.

I was there and first on scene, one driver had a sore shoulder, the other had no injuries. Both drivers were shaken. I'm the guy in black with a guitar on his back that can be seen in two of the pictures. Major damage to both cars. Also, I was directing traffic for around fifteen minutes before the police got there. I did basic medical assessments, both were fine - minus aforementioned minor injury. I like how I get no credit for doing everyone's jobs because they weren't able. Nothing for the proverbial "little guy".. Ah well, both drivers are fine, and that's what matters.
