Welcome to your new-look Bolton News website.

With a modern, fresh layout, the home page has been redesigned to provide an improved reader experience, focussing on what matters to you most – trusted, up-to-the-minute local content.

We’ve introduced a new sports section and placed greater emphasis on our news stories, displaying far more stories and pictures than before.

Site navigation has improved too, providing quick links to important categories such as jobs, what’s on and announcements.

Scroll down the page to discover content from a variety of sections and check out our new "Trending across the UK" section that showcases viral content from our sister websites up and down the country, keeping you abreast of content that’s being shared among our readers.

Our article pages too have been given a makeover with a cleaner look and more space to read.

We hope you enjoy your new-look site and stay tuned for further improvements in the coming months.

A new website does not mean a thing unless you get your reporters out reporting actual facts like the problems in Halliwell Road that have happened recently and not reported on or the problems up Daubhill that are never reported at all

Why not train your reporters to ask searching questions instead of just reprinting press releases from the police, Bolton metro and royal bolton hospital to name just a few. And please pretty please no more PR stories about Amir Khan: yes he's a **** good boxer, end of.

Hope it makes the Wanderers reporters grow a pair and start asking Gartside and Freedman pertinent questions like what do they actually do to help the club instead of sucking up to them are reading this Mr Iles or are you also in the fat controllers back pocket

Some good, some bad.
Reporters in many cases still obviously don't know the Bolton area & place events in the wrong areas.
Spellcheck please - basic!
Where's the 'Daily Poll' gone - it used to be on top level & so immediately accessible to all - so where do results in the printed version come from?
Might be me, but please try a site search for the poll & see what the results give you, you'll be amazed what comes up but never find it!
Says volumes about the search facility sadly appalling?
