AN illegal worker was arrested after he was found working at a takeaway in Deane.

Immigration officers, along with police, swooped on four takeaways in Deane and Daubhill on Tuesday evening in a crackdown organised by officers at Bolton Central police station.

The illegal worker was arrested at The Mash’s Peri Peri Chicken in Deane Road.

Checks carried out at both Mash’s Wing Ranch takeaways in Derby Street and St Helens Road, as well as Hot Bites in Wigan Road, found staff were working legally.

Mash's Wing Ranch is not related to Mash's Peri Peri Chicken, despite the similar name.

Anyone with information about suspected immigration abuse can contact gov.uk/report-immigration-crime or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
