SELFIES have taken the world by storm with celebrities and even royalty getting in on the act.

Now a designer has taken it one step further — setting himself the challenge of taking a selfie with a stranger every day in September.

Paul Barnes, from Blackrod, will ask a different person to pose with him every day and will keep a record of his efforts online so people can follow his progress.

He will try to make each photograph different and hopes to take some of his selfies in front of well-known landmarks such as Big Ben in London.

The 34-year-old is carrying out the unique challenge to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research.

He said: “The main idea I have had is to make each photo as interesting and as daft as possible, to try to increase awareness of the charity.

“The bigger and more interesting the pictures the better. I’m taking a trip down to London soon so I hope to get one in front of Big Ben, as well as a few other areas up and down the country.

“It’s a challenge for myself, and after I meet people I leave them a slip asking them to make a donation. It’s a laugh and will hopefully spread the message.”

People are asked to donate by texting SELF79 £3 to 70070, or visit the website justgiving.com/strangerselfieseptember.
