Here’s our guide to what you can do in and around Bolton this weekend.
1. Take a step back in time and experience the Billy Fury Years at the Albert Halls. Hailed as "the best Fury since Fury”, Michael King and his musicians aim to take you on a journey through the musical career of Britain's best loved rock n roll legend.
2. Izzy whizzy, let’s get busy with Sooty, Sweep and Soo. The Albert Halls will welcome all children’s favourite cheeky little bear Sooty along with his two best pals as well as TV partner Richard Cadell to the stage on Sunday for two shows.
3. Friday night sees real teenagers on the stage of the Octagon Theatre telling real tales straight from their MP3 players. As they hear the words in their headphones, they deliver line for line to the audience what they are hearing - live.
4. Pictures and music make up a special Bolton Symphony Orchestra exhibition this Saturday. Enjoy Rimsky Korsakov's pictures while taking the opportunity to listen to Brahms' 1st Symphony.
5 Take a trip to Journey’s End this Saturday courtesy of the Octagon Theatre, which commemorates the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
