RIVAL Bolton politicians were engaged in a bizarre argument about underpants on Twitter.
Labour councillor Sufrana Ismail and prospective Tory MP for Bolton West Chris Green got into a discussion over the front page of Wednesday’s The Sun, which showed a woman with a Union flag headscarf.
Cllr Ismail dismissed the paper as “utter rubbish and boobs”, leading to Mr Green writing: “Good to see you promoting a beautifully stylised image of unity!”
She replied: “I assume you wear union flag underpants?”, to which Mr Green retorted: “No but keep enjoying your imagination — please don’t be upset at my lack of reciprocation.”
Cllr Ismail dismissed his tweet as a "smart Alec comment" and called Mr Green a "cry baby".
Both politicians are aged in their forties.
